


The Centre's Occupational Health Physicians and Nurse Specialists carry out health surveillance and fitness for post assessments for NICS employees.
Health Surveillance is the screening of individual workers engaged in hazardous activities to detect early sign of problems before they become harmful and irreversible.
The following include health surveillance programmes currently provided by OHS:
Fitness for post refers to issues concerning an individual's health specifically in connection with his or her job. Some jobs require very high levels of physical and mental health, for example professional drivers or deep-sea divers, and strict medical criteria apply both at the entrance stage and for retention in post.
