Healthy Lifestyle and Physical Activity Assessment Programme (LPAA)

Health Promotion

Health Promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health (World Health Organisation) and thus the objective of health promotion activities is to maximise people's ability to achieve their health potential enabling them to add years to their life and life to their years.

 The Centre for Workplace Health Improvement offers all NICS civil servants the opportunity to have a personal lifestyle assessment, using the latest Fitech testing equipment. To date, over 11,000 civil servants have used this facility.

The LPAA Programme is offered to all User Departments, Agencies and Non-Departmental Public Bodies. Appointments are allocated for staff to participate on a voluntary and confidential basis. There is no charge to the individual civil servant.
