Spread of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) virus is thought to be happening in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing by people with influenza. In combating the spread – good basic personal hygiene is important including the use of tissues when coughing or sneezing, frequent hand washing and self-isolation for those with influenza symptoms.
